Just curious, but what individual songs do you notice the biggest difference?

More Beatles Remasters..........
by lepermessiah insorry, i cant resist another beatles topic.. i have picked up all but three of the beatles remasters.. they sound totally brilliant....... i heard a few complaints about the white album (too "muddy" in places) but overall i was very excited about the sound.that album has such an interesting dynamic that i could see how some people would feel that way.
that album is a brilliant muddled mess of styles - only the beatles could pull it off.. abbey road is still the album i am getting a big kick out of - here comes the sun you can hear the pick hitting the strings on the guitar, mean mr mustard, the intro sounds like you are sitting in the room with ringo, etc...........i keep playing with the balance knob on my stereo to hear the different channels and really hear the details......great fun .

As a JW Were You or Someone you Knew Falsely Accused by Elders ?
by flipper inthought i'd put this out there to see if you knew of people in the jehovah's witnesses who were falsely accused or mistreated by the " police " or elders in the congregation.
many times it's been by experiencing injustices that get us to get shaken out of our cult thinking mode and reality kicks in and the scales fall from our eyes that the wt society is just a man made organization whose leaders are no better than us - actually in many cases more unscrupulous and conniving than any of us would have ever been to each other !
i was falsely accused 2 times .

Good question Mr. Flipper.
But in all honesty, no I never knew of anyone who had been falsely accused. Everyone I knew who had faced judicial action freely admitted doing what they were accused of. I'm not saying it didn't happen, only I never knew of anyone.
Now having said that, I knew quite a lot of folks who committed disfelloshipping offenses (sometimes criminal offenses) and never were brought before the elders, much less the real police. Sometimes it seemed the worse the offense, the more it was covered up. Backwards thinking it was.

No kidding. If you liked Lennon better, you'll love Rubber Soul and Revolver. Though one of the better Lennon songs, "A Day in the Life" is on Sgt. Pepper.
If you really want to Beatle-out, see if you can rent "A Hard Day's Night". Not a bad little movie in that it captures Beatlemania pretty well.
And if you want to see what drugs can do to you ....

I thought the remixes were from the original mono tapes. Or did I misunderstand?

Damn Jeff, your email is my worst nightmare about my teenage daughter. She's given us hell the past couple of years and it's created quite a divide between Nina and I (she favors the Neville Chamberlain approach -- peace in our time and all that).
I've laid awake many, many nights with my heart in my throat about my daughter. I'm sure you've had this conversation with yourself, you know they've got to lead their own life, you do what you can (or sometimes what they allow you to do), but it's a helluva big difference when it's your own child. This world is so scary and big and dangerous and their life can go wrong so easily.
Damn damn damn Jeff I am so so sorry for you. I don't know you well but you seem to me to have a big heart. I know how I'd feel in your situation. I guess I'll tell you what I'd like to hear and that is -- You did your best given your knowledge, experience and finances; what's happened with her life is not your fault.
I am focused on the kids. I am not sure how to tell them, or when. I don't think I will tell them for a long time. They have gotten used to never hearing from her, or knowing what she is up to. I will not hide the truth from them, but see no rush to discuss it at this time.
I would recommend answering their questions. The younger the child, the more simple and direct the answer should be. When my kids were little, they asked about my parents (we haven't spoken in 20 years) and I would give a very simple answer -- I'm not talking to them. Sometimes they would want to know more, most of the time though they didn't. That little bit was all they wanted.
But yeah, be honest whatever else you do. Kids have a high BS meter.
Good luck man. After all you've been through you deserve to win the lottery or something to even things out.
